Zigzag Floyd–Steinberg

Volver a los algoritmos

Zigzag (serpentine) Floyd–Steinberg alternates scan direction row by row—left-to-right then right-to-left—which reduces the "worm" or directional artifacts that standard Floyd–Steinberg can show on large flat areas. The result is a more even, less directional grain, making it a good choice for big panels, acrylic, aluminum, and images where you have noticed visible streaks with the standard algorithm. It runs at similar speed to Floyd–Steinberg and is often the next algorithm to try when worms appear.

Descripción

Just like the standard version, but it scans back and forth like a snake. This prevents those little 'worm' trails you sometimes see.

Ideal para

Reducing 'worm' artifacts in large flat areas.

Aspecto visual

More even, less directional grain.

Consejos profesionales

Use when standard Floyd-Steinberg shows directional artifacts. Alternating scan direction eliminates 'worming' patterns. Best for large flat surfaces. Works well at 254-300 DPI. Great for materials where directional patterns are visible.
